Description
Bee B&B Wildlife Habitat from Greenkey
Bees are essential for pollination without which most seeds would not set and there would be no fruit, beans or tomatoes to name just a few.Solitary wasps also help control caterpillars and other potentially damaging bugs.
This house provides the ideal nesting habitat for many of the over 200 species of UK solitary bees.Solitary bees are naturally never responsible for stinging people. They lay their eggs in the tubes, with a parcel of food, sealed in by mud or carefully cut leaves.
The eggs change into larvae and then pupae which hatch out into new bees the following spring.Solitary wasps (again not known for stinging people) will also often use these tubes for egg laying.
