The heart of a filter are its filter sponges -especially this filter sponge set, which combines the blue and red sponges in a small space.
Red filter sponges have fine filtration properties, while blue ones have coarser ones.This means that depending on the flow rate of the water, small or only larger particles get stuck in the sponges and are thus removed from the pond water.But they not only do the classic filtration, but also offer the smallest bacteria plenty of living space.
This small biological oasis in the red filter sponges ensures the conversion of toxins in the pond:Toxic substances are converted into harmless substances that stimulate algae (nitrification), which in turn are converted into naturally occurring gases (denitrification).The blue filter sponges serve as additional support in the denitrification process.
