Horticultural Grit Sand Handy Pack from Kelkay

The Horticultural Grit Sand is ideal for potting compost, improving heavy soils, cacti & succulents, and for alpines and rock plants.
Please note that the colours will vary from batch to batch, and all dimensions are approximate in size.

When adding to compost, add 30 percent extra Horticultural Grit Sand (by volume) to compost to create the best open and free draining potting material for plants.
Ensure the materials are mixed well. This helps to prevent waterlogging and recreate the plant’s natural habitat.

Grit sand can be used to improve heavy soils, add to small areas of clay soil to improve drainage and aeration.
Use Horticultural Grit Sand in channels leaving a path open for water. Avoid working clay soils too much as they will become sticky and compact.

Grit sand is great for growing cacti and succulents as well as creating alpine/rock gardens.
