A great versatile product, Horticultural Potting Grit is washed and lime-free grade potting grit.
The perfect accompaniment for cacti, succulents, alpines as well as bulbs.

Horticultural potting grit provides extra drainage when added to compost and when dug into heavy soils.
Please keep in mind that natural materials will vary in size and colour, with some being significantly different.

When adding to composts, mix one part loam to one part Horticultural Potting Grit and one part leafmould or coir as an ideal planting mix or for a rock garden.
For ponds and aquatic planting, apply a thin layer of Horticultural Potting Grit to the top of the container. This will prevent fish from stirring up the soil.
You can also use this for your pots and trays of sown seeds, sprinkle a find layer of grit to prevent drying out as your seeds germinate.
